🌸 Good Morning “CRESSWIND FOR THE CURE” Team Members 🌸

As we head into the weekend, I want to acknowledge that the weather forecast is looking less than ideal for our walk. Please keep in mind the guidance from Tidelands Health:

“We’ll make every effort to hold In the Pink as scheduled so long as it’s safe to do so. Should weather conditions prevent the walk from being held, it won’t be rescheduled. Registration fees are a non-refundable donation to the Tidelands Health breast care fund.”

As of now, the walk is still scheduled to take place.

In the event of cancellation, I’d still love for us to gather Saturday morning at the clubhouse for team photos. Rain or shine, our spirit and unity deserve to be captured and celebrated!

I’ll share any updates regarding the walk as soon as I receive them—both on our community Facebook page and right here on this blog.

MEET UP TIME - CRESSWIND FOR THE CURE

Good morning CRESSWIND FOR THE CURE Team Members!

I’m thrilled to share that we now have 34 amazing team members signed up to walk with us this Saturday in the 2025 Tideland In The Pink Breast Cancer Walk—and thanks to our generous donors, we’ve raised an incredible $7,300 to support breast cancer awareness and research!💖

Location: Brookgreen Gardens

Date: Saturday, October 11, 2025

Team Photo Meet-Up: Please arrive no later than 7:15 a.m. to grab your t-shirt and gather for team photos. My husband and I will be near the t-shirt distribution tent—look for us there!

Gates Open: 7:15 a.m.

Walk Begins: 8:30 a.m.

The walk is approximately one mile. If you’ve registered, we’d love for you to walk with us—but cheering on our walkers is just as powerful!

Your registration includes full-day access to the stunning Brookgreen Gardens, so feel free to explore and enjoy the beauty after the walk.

Good Morning, to my family, friends, and neighbors—we’ve raised an astounding $6,720 to support the fight against breast cancer. This is no small feat, and with just 15 days until our walk, the momentum is truly inspiring.
As team captain, I’m honored and humbled by the outpouring of support for such a worthy cause. Take a moment to reflect on the strength we hold together—the lives we’re touching, the hope we’re spreading, and the legacy we’re building.

Now, we’re just $225 away from reaching $5,000 — and we’d love to cross that finish line in honor of everyone fighting, surviving, and thriving.

I’ve been thinking about the incredible bunch of residents, family, and friends of Cresswind who’ve so generously contributed to our team, "Cresswind For The Cure". Every day, I get another idea, another tidbit of inspiration, and it’s clear: this community is something special.

What started just three weeks ago has grown into a true passion. I’m beyond proud of what we’ve accomplished—but I’ll be honest, I want more. Not for me, but for the cause. For the fighters, the survivors, and the families who need us.

Let’s band together even tighter as the amazing neighborhood we are and take "Cresswind For The Cure" to the top spot in fundraising for the "
Tidelands "IN THE PINK" Walk for Breast Cancer. We’ve got the heart, the hustle, and the spirit to make it happen.

We're fundraising for friends & neighbors of Cresswind

Many mornings, as the hot sun rises over our pickleball courts, we gather not just for the love of the game, but for each other. Laughter echoes in every rally, and amid those rallies is the spirit of our dear friend Lisa Carberry—her positive attitude and beautiful laugh remind us how precious each moment is. Though she’d rather be chasing balls with us, Lisa is courageously facing her breast cancer battle, and our hearts walk with her every step of the way.

We also remember Sally Miller, founder of the Cresswind Bridge Group. Sally’s bright smile as she dealt each hand, and her patience teaching newcomers, turned every game into a celebration of community.  Although Sally is no longer with us, she survived her own fight with breast cancer. Sally modeled resilience and hope, inspiring all of us to cherish more days with family and friends.

Beyond Lisa and Sally, there are countless neighbors whose silent battles, rounds of treatment, and unwavering strength shape the heart of Cresswind. Though we cannot name every hero, each one reminds us why every step matters and why we walk together.
