The late H. McRoy Jr., CPA, and his beloved wife, Jo, devoted their lives to helping others through volunteer work, through outreach via their church, through countless, quiet acts of kindness, they extended a helping hand to lift up those around them. Their tragic loss is felt across our region.

During his tenure as chairman of the Tidelands Health board of trustees, Mr. Skipper was a champion for the devlopment of health care professionals. He was an ardent supporter of the Tidelands Health MUSC Family Medicine Residency Program and a passionate advocate for the education and training of both current and future health care professionals.

The McRoy and Jo Skipper Initiative for Learning and Teaching serves as a lasting memorial to Mr. and Mrs. Skipper. It builds upon the Skippers' legacy of services, supporting a broad range of educational programs and initiatives to benefit current and future health care professionals in Georgetown, Horry and Williamsburg counties.
